In reality between the voltage loss through the wire that ties in the first battery along with the minimum sized wire to the starter, you would be hard pressed to get 90% of that. So even on the day it rolled off the line with two fresh batteries, the starter was never actually getting the full 1220CCA to spin it. ![]() The other battery is connected to the first by, you guessed it, a barely adequate sized wire that runs the perimeter of the engine bay. Also keep in mind, only one battery is connected directly to the starter. The cable feeding your starter is the bare minimum to get it there. These trucks require an enormous amount of torque to spin, and yes, 600CCA x 2 is just barely enough. Thats a sign of 1) a bad starter or 2) not enough juice getting to it. Slow starting is what you complained about.
